This paper is a result of the research project “Financial Relations in Today’s Cuban Society” in the subject Finance taught at University of Havana Faculty of Accounting and Finance. It is aimed at examining the relations between Cuban financial system and self-employment, by adopting an approach based on behavioral finance because the purpose of this is to identify and understand why people make certain financial choices.
