ALFONSO HIDALGO, Anayda  e  ZAMORA RODRIGUEZ, Luis. Preliminary experience of interdisciplinary links between Pharmacology and Medical Informatics in medical studies. Rev EDUMECENTRO [online]. 2014, vol.6, n.1, pp. 145-159. ISSN 2077-2874.

Background: currently, there is a prevalence of an integration approach in the planning of the curriculums, dealing with the various training areas in an interdisciplinary way, through curricular strategies. Objective: to identify difficulties in the final research paper of students, after the implementation of methodological actions in order to establish interdisciplinary links between Pharmacology and Medical Informatics in medical undergraduate studies. Methods: a development research was conducted during the second semester of the academic year 2011-2012 at the Medical University of Villa Clara, in the Faculty of Medicine where the subject Pharmacology II is taught. The research was conducted in two stages: the first stage included the design of an integration proposal based on the existing potential in the curriculum. The second one includes a preliminary assessment of this first experience. Empirical methods were used, such as a documentary analysis of the syllabi of the subjects taught and students' research reports. Percentage analysis was used as mathematical method. Results: difficulties were found in all the reports, because the results are repeated in the section intended for discussion, and more than half of them include conclusions that are not implicit in the analysis. Conclusions: there is a need to continue improving the training of research skills in students, and enhancing interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary treatment research component.
