REYES CHIRINO, Raymari e DELGADO FERNANDEZ, Tatiana. Functional model of a citizen digital innovation laboratory. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.1, pp. 177-188. Epub 02-Fev-2021. ISSN 2218-3620.
In the last decade, there has been an increase in collaborative spaces that promote initiatives that stimulate innovation in urban areas. The so-called Innovation Labs are playing an articulating role between the local ecosystem the current concerns of the people, under the principles of co-creation and experimentation. This article addresses a functional model for such labs, which follows the life cycle of projects and is based on the agile XP software developmental methodology. Such a model consists of five stages: (1) launching of the idea, (2) analysis, (3) execution, (4) testing, and (5) impact evaluation. To show the viability of the functional model, a case study aimed at mitigating the complex problem of population aging has been implemented. Starting from this scenario, the application of the functional model designed in the Pinar del Río Digital Innovation Laboratory is presented. Finally, an analysis of potential improvements in the governance of the laboratory is offered that aims to consolidate social communication techniques with citizens and encourage the role of the company in the innovation ecosystem and the search for mechanisms that guarantee sustainability.
