DURAN GONZALEZ, Rosa Elena; JUAREZ MORENO, Mariana  e  RAESFELD, Lydia. Violence and rights of girls of indigenous origin in the municipality of San Felipe Orizatlán, Hidalgo. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.3, pp. 56-68.  Epub 02-Jun-2021. ISSN 2218-3620.

This research shows violence against school-age girls in an indigenous context. At the will of municipal and academic programs, it used federal funding to carry out a social diagnosis with a focus on Human Rights, interculturality and gender to show sociocultural connections, which are generated in the complex reality of indigenous childhood. The qualitative methodology recovered testimonies through projective techniques and focus groups for girls in preschool and primary school, respectively. These results show that girls are extremely vulnerable in the family and school context, society and their historical particularity of gender mandates violate four of their rights: equality, education, health and a life free of violence. The responsibility lies with society, families and all caregivers, and it is public policy that can directly influence the safeguarding and fulfillment of these Human Rights in child hood.
