ALVAREZ-MONIER, Emilio; DEL TORO-ALVAREZ, Dania; MACHADO-MARTINEZ, Dariel  e  SANTIESTEBAN-PONS, Osmar. Digital simulation of the filling process in the plant of Parenteral Solutions in the Pharmaceutical Laboratory Oriente, Cuba. RTQ [online]. 2017, vol.37, n.2, pp. 264-278. ISSN 2224-6185.

The work lies in the presentation of a feasible proposal from the technical and economic perspective that helps solve the current problems of filling bags solutions 1000 mL or more, Plant Parenteral Solutions Company "Laboratorio Farmacético Oriente", Santiago de Cuba province. To do so, the essential characteristics of piping system filling area and equipment present therein, as well as important elements of parenteral solutions, the types of materials where these are packed and their characteristics were identified. a mathematical model with a view to develop a digital simulation of the filling process was obtained, which allowed the identification of four technically feasible alternatives to solve the problem of filling bags 1000 mL, selecting the best, which is reduce the diameter of the pipe section 2 of the branch 4-5 ½ to ¼ inch, with a net present value of 1103.69 $; an Internal Rate of Return of 32% and Time Payback of 3.69 years.

Palavras-chave : digital simulation; fluid flow; selection of alternatives; algorithm.
