VERGARA REINA, Roberto  e  ACOSTA PEREZ, Mayelín. Experience in vaginal delivery after cesarean section in a Haitian hospital . Rev Cubana Obstet Ginecol [online]. 2003, vol.29, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3062.

A study was made on 129 pregnant women with previous cesarean sections, who went to the Gonave hospital in Haiti during the years 1999 and 2000. Those who, according to specialists´criteria, should not be subjected to trial of labor were excluded. The pregnant women were asked about their willingness to subject themselves to labor; 11 refused and 95 were selected of whom 70 had a transpelvic delivery and the rest underwent repeat cesarean section fundamentally caused by the need of using oxytocin. The advantages of this method from the economic viewpoint were analyzed, which represented in this setting a saving of $186.67 per each repeat cesarean section, if risks and complications are taken into account. There were no complications in this group.
