In the Hellenistic world there is an aesthetic analogy between the visual and the written arts. Can be compared the famous Gaugamela mosaic, emerged from a copy of an original plausible Apelles, and the mime IV of Hero(n)das where the poet he presents himself as the painter’s alter ego. Both create the illusion of an authentic reality.
