The Anacreontic Tradition in Cuba during the xix century has an important item in Odas anacreónticas, published by a young Enrique José Varona when he was eighteen years old. Despite its more of one hundred and fifty years the book has not been adequate considered in relation with the mentioned tradition neither its signification in this author. It’s a very important items because including imitations and translations avoids questioning the limits and character of both. In this paper I try to show how this is a book consciously planned and how rapports to the expose theme.
