Resumo

This work intends second-year students in Information Sciences to develop two modes of logical reasoning -demonstration and refutation- through teaching-learning process in the subject Introduction to Pedagogy. Achievements presented are results of pedagogical interventions, with sample students' progress being assessed by comparing results obtained in initial, intermediate, and final diagnostic testing. Actions involved in such modes of logical reasoning are described and their evolution is examined. It is also examined what influence on selected students' progress given educational tasks had. It is shown that most students could develop both modes of logical reasoning, though they exhibited differences.
