At present sepsis is still a health problem and morbidity and mortality have not changed in spite of the introduction of new diagnostic and therapeutic technological advances. During the last decades there has been a real development in the research related to the role of free radicals and their linking with diseases. In the process of sepsis as an inflammatory phenomenon, the organs and systems of organs that take part in it do not escape from the action of free radicals and that's why it is necessary to know how the free radicals involve themselves in its physiopathological mechanism
