BARBER FOX, Maria Ofelia; BARBER GUTIERREZ, Ernesto e FOX PASCUAL, María. Experimental arterial hypertension by using an angiotensin II competitive blocker. Rev Cubana Invest Bioméd [online]. 2006, vol.25, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3011.
Saralasin, an angiotensin II competitive blocker, was used aimed at increasing the blood renal flow and the rate of glomerular filtration to study its possible tubular consequences and its effects on arterial pressure. 40 initially normotensive Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups: saralasin, suppression and control groups went parallel. Measurements of the hemodynamic systemic and renal variables, as well as morphometric measurements of the kidney were made. The results supported the hypothesis of the tubular participation in the genesis of primary arterial hypertension and a new model of experimental arterial hypertension in rats was recommended.
