The use of an instrument for the application of the Nursing Care Process in disfunctional families is proposed in this paper. This instrument called FF-SIL refers to a family functioning test that measures the functional capacity degree based an 7 variables: cohesion, harmony, communication, affectivity, roles, adaptability and permeability. It allows the nursing personal to identify the related factor causing the family problem and to have a more efficient participation in the solution of this problem. This proposal was applied to 20 disfunctinal families in a health area of the Playa Municipality in Havana City and the results were favorable in all families, since the goals laid down different time intervals wers attained.
