An analysis of the main indicators of family functioning and its importance for an adequate health status of the family and its members is made in this paper. Emphasis is also made on the need of a systemic approach at the time of studying the family problems and their reciprocal interaction. Some of the indicators allowing us to evaluate the family functioning are exposed here.
