A descriptive and retrospective study of the five-year term 1990-1995 wqas carried out at the family physician´s office 34-3 of the XX Anniversary health area, in Santa Clara, Villa Clara, to know the link existind between the family physician and nurse and the social microgrigade in an insalubrious neighborhood which is under a physical, construction and social animation process. Some changes were introduced by the investigators. The analysis of the results was made by the application of quantitative methods and qualitibe techniques of investigation. The following conclusions were reached: the creation of a social microbrigade connected with the health team is the most important event of the neighborhood in the last years. Positive changes were observed in the lifes tyle and in the health status of the population. The modifications of the social risks are the result of the community and social participation under the leadership of the multidisciplinary prophylactic group.
