A descriptive study to characterize some social and demographic factors present in the level of radiological severity of rheumatoid arthritis was carried out in 33 patients diagnosed with this disease in "Manuel Ascunce Domenech" clinical and surgical teaching hospital from 1994 to 1998. A questionnaire was given to them, then data were manually coded and processed in a computer. Females were predominant with about 70% of patients, mainly from urban areas and primary schooling. Larsen’s grade III group most of the patients whereas grades I and II did not include any patient. Retired people and housewives were the most affected
