PEREZ MARTINEZ, Víctor T. e LORENZO PARRA, Zurama. Behavior of the system of social support networks in families suffering from suicidal behavior. Rev Cubana Med Gen Integr [online]. 2004, vol.20, n.5-6, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3038.
In 2 families, where suicide was committed, the Global Family Repercussion was classified as severe, whereas in the other 32 family groups in which a suicide attempt took place, a predominance of elevated family repercussion was found in 56.2 %. In both psychotraumatizing events, the most used support networks were those from the health institutions and from the own family. The most frequent social support was the informative, followed by the emotional. The adaptative capacity of the family groups that suffered from the suicide attempt fluctuated from fair to good. All the groups with a suicide committed showed a poor adaptative capacity. A marked increase of the adaptative resources of the family was observed as the social support received was greater.
