ALONSO REMEDIOS, Alaín; PEREZ RUMBAUT, Galia Ivis  e  PEREZ MARTIN, Oliver. Immunology in the training of specialists during the medical major. Educ Med Super [online]. 2017, vol.31, n.4, pp. 1-7. ISSN 1561-2902.

Immunology is a transdisciplinary branch with a basic, clinical and diagnostic profile; that is why, its association with other specialties is necessary. Additionally, the scientific and technical development achieved in health, as well as the commercialization of biological products with immunomodulatory action, make immunology a discipline that must be dominated by other specialists. For the development of this paper, a bibliographic review was carried out with the topics about interdisciplinarity, multidisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity, besides reviewing the programs of studies of the specialties, with the purpose of assessing the relevance of a parallel course of immunology to be taught in all specialties. Nowadays, the study plans of the graduates treat the immune system with a reductionist vision, therefore, it is necessary to create a parallel immunology course that provides the essential knowledge and tools necessary to apply the knowledge of this system in the solution of problems specific to their specialties. The immunologist must address the generality of the immune system common to all specialists and guide the study and deepening the topics of each service through independent work.

Palavras-chave : immunology; transdisciplinarity; postgraduate.
