CHAVEZ, Dunia; GARCIA, Yenisley; RAMOS, Mayra  e  MIRANDA, Ileana. WEB SITE FOR THE STUDY OF CUBAN PREDATOR MITES (ACARI: PHYTOSEIIDAE). Rev. Protección Veg. [online]. 2009, vol.24, n.2, pp. 126-130. ISSN 2224-4697.

The diagnosis of the predators' mites is the base to establish an appropriate biological control. The present work presents a Web that contains current information of the mites belonging to the family Phytoseiidae present in Cuba to propitiate their quick and effective diagnosis. The site allows visualizing the most recent results of the research about taxonomy and management of these mites. It foments to carry out biological inventories and the formation of a complementary biological collection system in the taxonomic covering. This work also allows incorporating new information technologies to research and the plans for pre and post-grade studies. It impels the training and updating of researchers and students. This software was made using Macromedia DreamWeaver8. It is in validation phase and it is used by students of the Agrarian University of Havana and researchers of National Centre for Animal and Plant Health and the Plant Health Research Institute.

Palavras-chave : Web Site; taxonomy; predator mites; Cuban agroecosystems.
