DURAN MATOS, Mayda et al. Knoweledge retention in the subject human anatomy. AMC [online]. 1997, vol.1, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1025-0255.

With the aim of assessing the retention level of knowledges in Human Anatomy subject, a surprising retention test was performed to 2nd year students of Medicine, three months after having finished the last subject, 2 of Anatomy I, 1 of Anatomy II; 2 of Anatomy III. This test was checked according to the mark code; and data were taken to a survey that included order number, exam's marks, marks in the three subjects, place of birth, life style, outstanding participation helping in the process of teaching. These data were processed through MICROSTA statistical package. Frequency Distribution and proportion hypothesis tests were used to determine if there was significant difference among the frequency and occurrence of a certain aspect. A good level of knowledge retention was achieved when 158 students passed the test, 86,81% of promotion. It was also observed that greater difficulties were found in the question of Myology and Nervous System. Results in the three subjects range among 4 and 5 marks; this preparation influences in the results of the retention test where it could be seen that good results were achieved in IPVCE students, followed by Orden 18 students, and differed FAR as well as external students. There was no significant difference as to the condition of helper students or non helper students.
