A longitudinal and descriptive study was performed which included 485 cases with diagnosis of meningoencephalitis assisted in the Emergency Service of Ëduardo Agramonte Piña" Provincial Pediatric Teaching Hospital of Camagüey within the period from January/95 to February/96. Differences in the clinical and humoral interpretation of this entity were proved. Which brings about mistakes in the ethiological diagnosis of it? and at the same time in its correct posterior therapeutical management.A scheme is proposed that may guide in this sense based in new physiopathological elements about the topic.
