In this work some difficulties in the adaptation to the biological, psychological and social changes during aging, are described as a problem that is interrelated to disasters situations. Also, the catastrophes repercussion in the elderly and the psicopathologic manifestations are dealt with, as well as the weaknesses and strengths that are presented in some of them when facing an event of this nature. Finally, some recommendations for their recovery process are suggested
