MERA SEGOVIA, Carlota Mónica e LEYVA, Dra. Berlis Gómez. Neurofunctions in preschool education: importance in the teaching-learning process and health care. ccm [online]. 2020, vol.24, n.1, pp. 388-408. Epub 01-Mar-2020. ISSN 1560-4381.
Neurofunctions are psychic activities that develop throughout life and acquire a special relevance in preschool education. Basic neurofunctions are body scheme, laterality, temporal orientation, spatial orientation, auditory perception, visual perception, tactile perception, fine and gross motor skills. Higher neurofunctions include attention, memory, thought, intelligence, language and reasoning. Knowledge of basic and higher neurofunctions allows for a better teaching-learning process and the prevention, with early stimulation, of alterations that compromise the integral health of the child. This knowledge is not only important for kindergarten teachers, but also for health personnel who care for children.
