The development and child health under the influence and interaction of multiple risk factors, the identification and control are a contribution of preventable health disorders and school learning. This approach allows to know the need of care are specific population groups to organize services and establish actions for prevention. The study group consisted of 4 200 preschool children attending day care centers and elementary schools in nine municipalities. He was also on the school readiness assessment of a subsample of 447 preschoolers and 1 970 first-grade primary school. Methodologies and tools used were validated standardized information related to the picture of health, providing scientific evidence on the basis of identified risk factors especially at family member, for the improvement of health surveillance and the design of new strategies prevention and health promotion in schools and community. This study was based in the necessity to identify the factors of risk from early ages of the life, which permits to guide the preventive-educational strategies with the integrated work of educators, parents and health workers.
