Introduction:
pseudolymphoma is a rare and generally idiopathic disease, constituting a group of benign dermatoses with a histologic picture that hardly distinguishes it from lymphomas. They can be divided into two main groups according to the predominant lymphocyte (T or B) in the infiltrates and their clinical presentation varies according to the stimuli that provoke the disease.
Objective:
to describe a patient with a cutaneous pseudolymphoma treated at the Oncology Service of the General Teaching Hospital Abel Santamaría Cuadrado of Pinar del Río.
Case presentation:
female patient, white, 66 years old, hypertensive, who was registered in the Oncology service on March 9, 2020 because she presented brown skin lesions predominantly in the lower limbs. She was evaluated by the dermatology department who suspected a cutaneous lymphoma and conducted a systematic diagnosis which concluded in cutaneous B-cell lymphoid hyperplasia.
Conclusions:
pseudolymphoma can have a very varied clinical presentation and many factors can trigger its appearance. A systematic diagnosis including interrogation, physical examination, histology and immunohistochemistry is essential. The use of steroids is effective for the treatment of the skin lesion and subsequent follow-up by dermatology is insisted upon.
