In this work, the intensity-duration-frequency (IDF) curves model proposed by Wenzel in dimensionless form is applied and the parameters were obtained as a function of the affectation probabilities to the Cuban archipelago reported by different authors. When applying the instantaneous intensity method, an analytical procedure was developed in order to determine the advance coefficient of the storm, where its regional, climatic and probabilistic character is revealed. In this way, the respective dimensionless hyetographs were obtained, supported by the high correlations achieved in the IDF curves and the coherence of the advance coefficients estimated by the proposed procedure with those reported by previous investigations, demonstrating the feasibility of the approach here presented.
