In the formation of medical students, the use of Martí’s texts should be a model within the conception of the subject History of Cuba, which is taught in the career’s second year. This paper proposes a set of didactical procedures to contribute to students’ learning by means of using Martí’s texts in class. Thus, the potentials of the Cuban National Hero’s work are pointed up.
