Within the framework of the sustainable development goals, a model is proposed to address the environmental education of the humanities professional. It assumes a qualitative methodological approach for the construction and application of the model, which responds to the need to take advantage of the potential of the subject content of the specialty to address the environmental dimension from the social, economic, historical and cultural. On this basis, didactic recommendations, contents, dimensions and indicators for the application of the model are proposed. The changes that are made in the environmental training of the professional account for the scientific value of the model.
