The aim of this article is to pay homage to María Abigail Rial Pérez, her work at the Planning Office of the region of Oriente, Cuba, and as a teacher and founder of the discipline in Cuba, to which she left her indelible mark and which she introduced to the academia for the education of future generations. The study consists of a compilation and review of personal and family documents, among others. Further information pertaining to Pérez’s life and work was also collected through interviews with her colleagues and friends. This article presents a panorama of the principal tasks carried out by Pérez in her work as a designer, technical consultant and teacher.
