RODRIGUEZ JAVIQUE, Daylín. A theoretical framework to study the fertility of Cuban migrants in the United States. Rev Nov Pob [online]. 2017, vol.13, n.26, pp. 10-23. ISSN 1817-4078.

The present article intends to carry out an analysis of the relationship between fertility and migration from the theories that have addressed the subject. Starting from the prominence that migration has gained in the demographic dynamics of current societies, the work addresses different theoretical positions regarding the reproductive behavior of migrants from the review of the literature on the subject. The objective of this review is to assume a reference for the study of the fertility of Cuban migrants living in the United States, where the largest proportion of Cubans resides abroad. That is why within the text a space is dedicated to a brief description of the behavior of fertility and migration of Cubans in recent years, which helps to understand and adjust in some way the theories mentioned and assumed as a frame of reference. Finally, a brief integration is made as of final considerations that include assessments of a possible application of the theoretical framework to the case of Cuba.
