Regional integrationist associations are of great importance since these have been oriented towards cooperation to face problems that are complicated for the nation-state to assume. Latin America and the Caribbean is a region with a long associationist tradition, but regional integration platforms in the subcontinent have not been successful in coping cooperatively with common challenges and with Covid-19 pandemic it has not been different. The integrationist platforms of the region have not worked in coordination and the disparity in policies and actions undertaken by each of the governments is alarming and dangerous in the face of a unique event in the history of humankind. To explore and analyze the causes of uncoordinated actions of the different integrationist platforms in Latin America and the Caribbean and to propose some methodological thoughts about the possible future of the post-pandemic regional integration are the objectives of this paper.
