Sjögren’s syndrome is a systemic autoimmune disease characterized by destruction of lacrimal and salivary glands, causing symptoms such as xerophthalmia, xerostomia, xerodermia and serious extraglandular manifestations, giving the prognosis of the disease. Ultrasonography may be useful tool to complement the diagnosis, detection of the syndrome in early stages of the disease and to follow patients with an established diagnosis, including the assessment of inflammatory activity by studying the Doppler Power, being the ultrasound technique non-invasive, fast and low cost, which still requires standardization and validation.
