PRADO, José Félix. Adult education: an approach from transformational learning. Conrado [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.78, pp. 140-144. Epub 02-Fev-2021. ISSN 1990-8644.
This study responds to a documentary type research; What has been done is to elaborate a state of the art in which the phenomenon of research on transformational learning in adult education is analyzed, which seeks to open up those mental schemes that people have probably since childhood, causing an impact to change those old convictions and inspire you to see reality in different ways, giving way to greater flexibility and openness of ideas, for your better performance and achievement of reflective skills. The methodological route that has been followed has basically comprised three moments: exploration, focus and deepening. The units of analysis were documents on the subject found in databases such as Scopus, SciELO. The most important aspects found in this bibliographic review indicate that transformational learning occurs when we give a realistic dimension to the acquisition of a new concept or theory. Given this idea, it is proposed to break old schemes through a clash that allows us to observe reality from another perspective, more flexible and open, opposed to cumulative learning that is based on what the student already knows, knows and accumulates in his memory.
