During the first half of the 19th century, there were several non-school social institutions that contributed to the educational development of Port-au. Prince. One of these is the Puerto Principe Patriotic Deputation a parastatal institution founded in 1813. From the periodization carried out for the study and emergence of these institutions in Cuba, it is stated that there are three foundation stages, however, this general periodization criterion carried out on the emergence of the Patriotic Councils in Cuba, is limited by the non-specification of the peculiarities and distinctive elements of each one of them. It is for these reasons that this article aims to propose a periodization for the study of the Patriotic Council of Port-au-Principe and its work in the education development of this region. For this, different research methods are used from the perspective of historical and logical, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, evaluation of primary and secondary sources, and documentary analysis. The present work contributes to enrich the history of the principeña region and by extension the history of the Cuban education.
