MARTINEZ-HERNANDEZ, Carlos M.; FRANCESENA-LOPEZ, Yosiel; GARCIA-LOPEZ, Yaser e MARTINEZ-FLORES, Nilda Rosa. Environmental Impact Caused by Effluents of Biogas Factories of Small and Medium Scale. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2017, vol.26, n.4, pp. 95-108. ISSN 2071-0054.
The work was carried out with the objective of determining the properties of the effluents (digestate) as biofertilizers, as well as the possibility of their decontamination. The effluents were taken, in three anaerobic digesters of fixed dome located in the central region of Cuba. To carry out this investigation the following aspects were determined: the physical-chemical and microbiological characteristics of the influents and effluents, the study of different polluting loads , the use of secondary and tertiary filters (bio-filters), as well as their effect like biofertilizers, in dependence of different degrees of water dilution (50, 75 and 90%). As conclusions, the authors reached the following criteria: the microbial load can be reduced by using secondary and tertiary filters (<1000 NMP/100 mL). The analysis of effluents like bio-stimulants showed a positive effect when they are diluted in 90% with water (80% germination). The removal of DQO, showed positive effects when secondary and tertiary filters are applied (8 - 69, 69% of removal), however, in some cases, it does not fulfill the Cuban norm yet (NC-27:1999)
