Objective:

This paper aims at devising the theoretical foundations of a research method based on studying life histories. The suggested methodology structures logical procedures, which comprehensive natures allows to support a theoretical proposal that makes it possible to support a contribution in philosophical doctors’ dissertations.

Methods:

The holistic-dialectical and the hermeneutic-dialectical methods were transcendent in devising the theoretical foundations of the methodology, and allows to assess the coherence of the proposal and functions. Scientific systematization and generalization in life histories data examining are highlighted, revealing significant theoretical and practical relationships in formative processes in the social field.

Result:

The integration of the stages of human and social research processes with the dialectical relationship between scientific systematization and generalization is a novelty. In such a way that the transformative capacities are channeled, promoting collaborative learning, which mobilizes the actions involve in generating problematic situations within the process of systematization of experiences.

Conclusion:

The authors arrived at the conclusion that the proposal points out that the systematization of experiences allows the understanding facts and knowledge in a given historical context, which favor obtaining reliable knowledge inferred from a generalization process, that will lead to problem solving in educational and social environment based on scientific grounds.
