The present article is been of the thesis report in option to Ph. D in Literary Sciences in the Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas. It approaches the evolution of the topic of the city and the urban space in the Latin American novel. The present work analyzes the main cities of the continent represented in the novel, with emphasis in the production of the novelists of the XX century. The text explains how the urban reality of the Latin American countries has been essential in the urbanization of its literature.
