The Department of Physical Education and University Sports of the "Félix Varela Morales" campus of the "Marta Abreu" Central University of Las Villas, Villa Clara, Cuba, has deployed its extension work by interacting with the community, which is framed in areas surrounding the institution. The objective of the research is to propose sports-recreational activities in the sport of basketball for young men in the Camacho-Libertad community. Methods of data collection and processing of the information collected were used. The selected sample consisted of 20 young men between 16 and 20 years of age. The results revealed the shortcomings and potential of the study in terms of human and material resources, mainly of practitioners and specialists who attend the activities and promote the incorporation of young people to the practice of Basketball in their free time. These served as a basis for designing and proposing these activities, which were evaluated by experts and considered pertinent. Once the proposal was implemented, permanence, systematicity in the practice of this sport and progression in the incorporation of the practitioners from low to medium and high levels of incorporation were achieved, developing sports and behavioral skills.
