MENDOZA SOSA, José Carlos; ORELLANA GARCIA, Arturo  e  AUBERT VAZQUEZ, Eduardo. A tool for the structuring of neuroscience data under the BIDS specification. RCCI [online]. 2023, vol.17, n.4  Epub 01-Dez-2023. ISSN 2227-1899.

Neurodata are information related to brain activity obtained through the use of neurotechnologies. At the Cuban Neuroscience Center, two of the most common data are generated by Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Electroencephalogram (EEG) equipment. These data are heterogeneous and generate information in several different formats, which makes the exchange of information difficult and sometimes delays the results that could be obtained from scientific studies. Brain Imaging Data Structure (BIDS) is a recent standard to address this problem, however, there is information that is outside the BIDS standard and tools, called converters, are used to standardize databases that do not follow BIDS standards. The aim of this research is to present a tool for the standardization and structuring of MRI and EEG neurodata, which allows solving the international difficulties of previous proposals. To this end, an analysis of the converters and algorithms used for this purpose is carried out, with the aim of summarizing their main characteristics, good practices and elements of interest to be taken into account in the current research. The analysis-synthesis method is used to understand the elements that make up the converters, the functions they perform and their importance. As a result, A tool for converting MRI and EEG neuroscience databases to the BIDS specification was developed. It is possible to convert multiple data with the developed proposal, a feature that other converters do not have, in addition to integrating valuable information for data storage and analysis.
