VERA SAGREDO, Angélica; POBLETE CORREA, Susana e DIAS LARENAS, Claudio. Estimation of Freshmen’s Learning Styles and Strategies. Rev. Cubana Edu. Superior [online]. 2019, vol.38, n.1 ISSN 0257-4314.
This research was aimed at identifying learning styles and strategies most used by freshmen (N=147), and examining the relation between learning strategies and their sex, age, and origin. It is also examined whether styles are connected or not with intentional action taken by freshmen to learn. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to analyze the differences among group means in the sample. Student's t-test was also used. The results show that metacognition and self-regulation are the most used strategies, and that female freshmen usually draw diagrams and write summaries as learning aids.
