Resumo

This article shows the learning results of three groups of students of the General Biology course, through the use of twelve laboratory practices with different degrees of openness as a didactic strategy to promote the construction and understanding of basic biological processes in future teachers of the Emilio Prud'Homme campus, in the period January-April 2019. As a result, it was evidenced that, in the development of the practices, motivation and interest during the experimental activities were higher than in the theoretical classes. Therefore, it can be concluded that the laboratory practices, conceived as a didactic strategy for the teaching and learning of biological sciences, allowed the development of some scientific skills and a significant learning of the concepts associated with the subject matter.
