ISSN 0258-5936.

The present work was developed at the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding from the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences (INCA), San José de las Lajas, Havana, with the objective to obtain excellent cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) vitroplants for acclimatization and evaluate the effect of an oligogalacturonide mixture (DP 7-16), known as Pectimorf®, on the culture medium employed for in vitro micropropagation of cassava, in order to substitute or minimize the concentrations of auxin naphtalene acetic acid (NAA). Doses of 5, 10 and 15 mg.L-1 were used, besides the culture medium proposed by INIVIT for in vitro growth and rooting of cassava as control. After 21 days, leaf number, root number, fresh and dry weights were evaluated as well as vitroplant vigor. Results proved that it is feasible to substitute NAA in the growing media by Pectimorf® at 10 and 15 mg.L-1.
