The therapeutic measures to control pruritus at the primary health care level are analyzed. Emphasis is made on the general measures to be taken for the topical application and on the correct use of antihistamines in the different groups. The pathologies that may be treated and controlled at the primary health care level, as well as those needing interconsultation with diverse specialists are stressed
