In order to characterize the family relations of the older adult, a cross-sectional and descriptive study was conducted at the Family Physician's Office no.3 of the polyclinic of San Diego de los Baños. Of the 130 older adults of the sector, 80 were included in the sample. The very harmonic (40 %) and the harmonic (30 %) relations prevailed. The association between the favorable levels in the family relations and the age group 60-69, as well as between the occupied state and the functional level III, was significant.
