Some theoretic considerations are made to explain the need for a change in the denomination of the Program of Medical Psychology, which is included in the medical curriculum, for that of Public Health Psychology, taking into account that it is a wider concept with a different approach resulting from the rapid incorporation of a new way of thinking in the health sphere that integrates the psychosocial dimension into the health-disease process at the conceptual, methodological and organizational level of health care.
