Since the University Reform was impulsed by the Revolution, in 1962, there have been transformations in medical education in Cuba. The most significant ones are connected with Public Health. The changes occurred in the syllabus content, its extension, teaching methods and resources alloted to this area are included in this paper. Reference is also made to the hard struggle of ideas that it has been necesary to wage to achieve the advances shown that, according to the author's criterion, are not the most necessary.
