A review of the medical literature on the respiratory clinical manifestations of the patient with spinal cord injury and the complications within the respiratory system appearing in any of the three stages these patients pass trhough was made. The programs created at the respiratory rehabilitation department of “Julio Díaz” National Rehabilitation Center and their favorable results for these patients are also explained in this paper.
