The present article synthetizes the concept of Neoliberal Economic Globalization with its ominous consequences for living conditions and for the possibilities of a sustainable development of the world population. The economic theories preceding Globalization, specially the so-called unique thinking, maximun exponent of neoliberalism, its main characteristics, instruments and strategies, as well as the international organizations supporting and imposing it, are approached. The mechanisms of the denominated structural economic reform as well as the tragic economic and social panaroma prevailing in today’s world are dealt with on giving statistical data that show the inequalities caused by the economic system ruling the world. The understimation of the ecological price with the loss of biodiversity that brings about the appearance of new diseases and the resurgence of some others from the medieval times is analyzed. The privation of vegetable nutritional and medicinal resources is also analyzed. Finally, recommendations are given to attain the essential goals in the health field and the sustainable development of mankind.
