The Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is an epidemic disease which affects nations through generations. The reduction of the morbimortality as a tranmissible disease is due to the strategy prepared by the public health system until the year 2000. So as to investigate about the knowledge of the health staff in realtion to it, a descriptive, cross-sectional study was performed based on the preparation of surveys to 251 persons among them professionals, health technicians, students of odontology during 1999 in Camaguey province. Data were processed in a microcomputer through a statistical package EPI INFO. It was observed that 5, 17% of the searched has minimal knowledges in relation to the transmission of the disease. Knowledges about oral manifestations, handling of instruments, and biosecurity are insufficient.
