Resumo

An observacional descriptive study of the total of 55 pregnant with polyhidramnios was carried out which they were admitted in the consultation of genetics-pregnancy and they entered in the Provincial Hospital Ginecoobstétrico Ana Betancourt of Mora, Camagüey, years 2002-2003, to know the behavior of the same one in ours medium. Different variables were analyzed; being concluded that the 69, 1% of the patients had among 20-34 years: 29 presented previous labors for the 52, 7 %. The premature rupture of membranes and the preterm labor in 13 and 10 patients respectively was present as complication of the preganancy. The light hidramnios was found in the 56, 3 % of the pregnant mothers. The diagnosis was carried out clinically and ultrasonographically after the 20 weeks (72, 7 %). The 38, 2 % of the patients interrupted the pregnancy by own request due to malformations and the 43, 6 % arrived al term. They finished the labor by cesarean section 31 patients for the 56, 3 %. The congenital malformations and the deaths with 6 newborns for the 10, 9 % respectively were the neonatal morbimortality more frequent.
