Resumo

Background: hyperuricemia is a disorder which substantially increases with the raising of the standard of living and overeating. Objective: to present an unusual case of tophaceous gout with skin lesions, that occurs in a typical case of gout with clinical associations of this disease. Case report: a 57 years old, male patient with health antecedent is presented. The patient suffered from gout since his youth, he presented tophaceous gout evolutionarily, he was treated with specific drugs for many years and afterwards with parenteral corticoids, he developed polymorphic skin lesions which are very rare in these patients, it may occur in those patients that steroid therapeutic is applied for long time. The patient developed kidney failure with severe hypertension and as result an intraparenchymal hematoma, he died in the therapy ward at the University Hospital Manuel Ascunce Domenech, the necrotic studies could not be carried out by family opposition. It must bear in mind that this disease considerably increases in the world with the improvement of the standard of living and factors associated with them.
